RENEWABLE REC PRICES remain high for last 2 years (abnormal in nearly 6 years of tracking)
RECOMMENDATION: subscribe to a NJ "Community Solar" project to save up to 21%

JCP&L CUSTOMERS: This page rank orders lowest price 100% renewable electricity RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) as of 3/3/2023. Prices remain high, per data in table for zipcode 07748. The NJ Board of Public Utilities (BPU) provides guidance, and a list of licensed 3rd party electrical suppliers.
Prices are in cents per kilowatt-hours, and should be compared to JCP&L "Price to Compare" explained in the left “Messages” column of your JCP&L bill. This "Price to Compare" is fixed in winter, and computed for each customer in summer, based upon actual electrical usage.
JCP&L "Price to Compare" is 9.4 cents/kwh, "winter" 9/1/2022 to 5/31/2023; and ~9 cents/kwh "summer" 6/1/2023-9/1/2023 (depending upon usage)
Prices of RECs from all renewable vendors remain unprecedented height for last 2 years (in 6 years of tracking).

DO NOT USE this table of REC suppliers. Instead, subscribe to the growing number of NJ "Community Solar" projects which offer up to 21% lower prices than "price to compare".

TO LOCATE NEARBY COMMUNITY SOLAR, USE THE OFFICIAL NJ BPU PORTAL (this will be updated frequently as solar arrays are completed in NJ)

https://www.arcadia.com/for-homes (linked to solarlandscape and energysage) will match you to a NJ Community Solar project. Arcadia has taken over sales/billing/accounting for an increasing number of the 105 "year 2" projects in NJ)

IF YOU STILL WANT TO BUY RECs: The EPA recommends buying RECs from third - party certified and verified green power sources, identified here
Limited experience suggests that a consumer can receive a discount from these published web site rates by phoning for lowest price.
PSEG CUSTOMERS: your PSEG electricity is more than 2cents/kwh higher, and these suppliers are ALSO more than 2cents/kwh higher. Check the supplier for pricing.

1. According to page 2 of the constellation.com electric contract, the NJ Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) currently requires NJ to purchase RECs equivalent to 22% of total NJ electrical consumption. (The RPS increases yearly, to 50% in 2030). Hence, a NJ subscriber, to ANY 3rd party renewable supplier, would currently have 122% of annual electricity usage offset by RECs.
